Shh... Sneaky Video Stuff

Oof. The Freakin' Video Menu for Peeps Who Like Lookin' at Stuff

The external video menu is your golden ticket to settin' up Lyriken-Projektion or bouncin' into Bühnen-Monitor mode in OnSong. Buckle up, 'cause this menu's got OPTIONS, y'all.

Wrench Time (aka Settings)

Tap that wrench icon in the upper-left corner & boom—you're in External Video Settings like some kinda wizard. Straight from the menu, no detours.

Chromecast (The Wireless Dream)

Top-right corner's got an icon that lets you hook up to one or more Chromecast thingies for sendin' lyrics into the void wirelessly. Tap it, connect, disconnect, whatever. It all happens in the Chromecast Picker.

Preview (Spoiler Alert: It Don't Actually Show Nothin')

The top bit shows you what's gonna look like on the external screen. You can tap around & flip through lyric sections like you're actually previewing somethin'. Newsflash: it ain't showin' on the external device yet. That's what the next part's for, genius.

To actually get lyrics on the outside screen, tap the lyrics in the song viewer. Revolutionary, right?

Mode Buttons (Choose Your Own Adventure)

Five magical buttons sittin' below the preview do all the heavy liftin'—they control what combo of lyrics & background gets beamed to your external screen. OnSong can also flip into stage monitor mode with button #5, because why not.

  • Lyriken & Hintergrund throws the words on a color, gradient, image, or video like it's no big deal.
  • Nur Hintergrund yanks the lyrics & leaves just the pretty pictures (color, gradient, image, or video). Silence is golden.
  • Nur Lyriken ditches everything but the words. Minimalist vibes only.
  • Abdunkelungs-Modus nukes it all—just black, baby. The void is callin'.
  • Bühnen-Monitor-Modus flips on Stage Monitor Mode on its own, separate from the lyriken projection stuff.

On iOS & iPadOS, lyriken projection modes are always here (lucky you). Stage monitor mode? You can toggle that on & off. It'll always pump out to actual wired video (HDMI, VGA) or AppleTV wirelessly—which means your lyriken projection keeps workin' for other wireless gadgets like Chromecast. On macOS? Both modes can toggle on/off & separate windows pop up all fancy-like. Go full screen if you're feelin' extra.

Background Media (Layerin' Like a Boss)

The background is built from layers stacked on top of the base color. Tap any button to toggle it or tweak it—long-press to configure, or smash that arrow button. Your call.

Media

Pick still images or videos to sit behind your lyriken. Different pics, different vibes—you configure it here in the Media Picker.

Live

Live camera feed, optional effects, you as the star. Perfect for streaming your mug online, training via video call, or switchin' between multiple cameras on stage like a total pro. Set it all up in the Live Video Configuration Editor.

Overlay

Wanna make those lyriken actually readable? Throw colored textures on top & boom—readability + creativity in one move. Configure it in the Overlay Picker.

Background Color (Pick Your Poison)

Black, blue, purple, red, goldenrod, grey—boom, presets. But you're NOT stuck with those. Go rogue with the Color Picker & make custom colors all day long.

Font Size (Go Big or Go Home)

Drag the slider between 24 & 84 points. Default? 40. (Shocking, we know.) If you turn on "Adjust Lyriken To Fit" in Lyriken Projection Settings, the font size gets capped so lines don't wrap like a mess.

Hit up the Color Picker on the right to pick your text color. Default is white (obvi).

Stroke Width (The Outline Situation)

A stroke is basically a border around each letter to make 'em pop off the background. White text with an outline—classic move. Crank it between 0 & 3 points. Default is 1.

The Color Picker on the right picks the stroke color. Default is black, because contrast.

Shadow (Drama!)

A blurry shadow sits behind the lyriken to lift 'em off the background like they're fancy. Adjust the shadow radius from 0–100% (default: 50%).

Color Picker on the right = shadow color. Default is 50% see-through black (spooky).

Transition Speed (How Fast Things Happen)

How zippy are your lyriken & background changes? Set it between 0 & 4 seconds. Default is 2.0. Push it too fast & you might get lag, especially on ancient or wireless gear.

Automatic Advance Speed (The Robot's Turn)

Auto-cycle through slides after a pause. Default? Off (we're nice). Turn it on & set between 1–60 seconds per slide.

Preview Widget (The Tiny Magic Window)

A lil' widget that lives in the song viewer so you can preview lyriken projection & switch sections on the fly. Tap the power icon to toggle it, use the slider to adjust opacity & pretend you know what you're doin'.

Sliders are tappable & draggable anywhere—just yank 'em around. Tap left or right for fine-tuning if you're into that kinda precision.
