Read The Bleepin’ Manual
Ooh La La. Lookie Here.
The Bleepin' Song Viewer is basically where your songs just... exist. Y'know, hangin' out. You can cram songs into this view using the Yikes, Songs?!. When you pick a book, grab a song, go full detective mode with search, creep through categories like it's a song buffet, or load up a set, BOOM—it all lands in the song viewer & you're welcome.
Each song takes over your whole screen in viewer mode. Swipe up or down like you're flipping through a magazine at the dentist's office, or tap the top & bottom to scroll through that glorious vertical action. Then swipe left or right (or tap the sides, lazy peeps) to bounce between songs in the viewer. It's almost like navigation!
Peep What's Up
OnSong can handle a freakin' mountain of file type thingies including boring text chord charts & PDF files & whatever else you throw at it. They show up in the song viewer & scroll sideways like your attention span. Songs also scroll horizontally through your collection or set if you're into that sorta browsing vibe.
Wayfinding (But Make It Tappy)
Sure, swiping is totally the move on mobile devices, but good luck swippin' when you're actively makin' music with your hands, amirite? The song viewer's got you covered with lil' screen zones you can tap for navigation called Tap Zones That Actually Work & Magic Corners.
Pro tip: If sections are clickable 'cause of lyriken-projektion, assigned scenes, MIDI magic, or OnSong Connect/OnCue is doin' its thing, those section picks will totally yeetus any other navigation zones or hot corners.
Dem Chords Tho
Rockin' a text-based chord chart? Tap a chord & ZOMG the Chord Inspector opens up. It's basically your personal chord sensei showin' you like a bazillion ways to play it on whatever instrument you're clutchin'.
You can change what happens when you tap a chord over in Stuff & Things » Live Settings » Chord Playback Shenanigans, but tap-&-hold on chords? That'll always pop open the Chord Inspector. No exceptions. It's law.
Sections (The Splitty Kind)
Using Lyriken-Projektion? Tap sections of lyrics to control what shows on your connected video screen—basically you're a mini director now, congrats. The currently selected section gets a lil' colored bar on the left side. Wanna change that bar's color? Go to Stuff & Things » Display Settings » Song Viewer » That Blinky Position Thing.
Tap-&-hold sections to unlock the Section Mappin' Menu. This bad boy lets you wire up Scenes & MIDI Events to specific song sections. Back in the day we did this by position (ugh, so 2019). Now in OnSong 1.999+, new assignments stick to the named label & stanza, so if you move Chorus 1 around, the MIDI & scenes follow like loyal puppies. Adorbs.
When the section gets tapped, boom—scene is set & MIDI events fire off.
Look & Feel
Wanna make your chord charts less boring? Peep the Style Thingies Menu to tweak fonts & styles til your heart's content. You can also flip the page layout using the Layout Playground lurking in the Navigation Editor stashed in the Utilities Menu.
